2023 POGGIO DEL PAPA
As the new year begins, we’re delighted to welcome you to January with a shipment that reflects both renewal and discovery. This release introduces two exciting wines to your collection: the 2023 Poggio del Papa, a vibrant, Sangiovese-inspired red layered with bright cherry, savory herbs, and Italian-styled charm.
TASTING NOTES
The 2023 Poggio del Papa is a polished red wine with lively flavors of cherry, wild berry, fresh herb and mineral that harmonize beautifully. With good density and texture, the wine is supported by light, firm tannins and lively acidity.
WINEMAKER NOTES
Sangiovese from slightly warmer, mid-valley vineyards, bring lush fruit and juicy plumpness to the wine. Merlot was sourced from the cooler southern regions of the valley with the right soils and growing conditions for this signature grape.

2023 MALBEC
Our 2023 Malbec is a testament to the artistry of winemaking, displaying a captivating depth and clarity. The first bottling of our Malbec with this beautiful new label, delicious, approachable, consistent.
TASTING NOTES
Subtle undertones of cedar and a hint of decadent dark chocolate, adding depth and complexity to each sip. As the wine unfolds on the palate, additional layers emerge, revealing notes of supple worn leather, a touch of espresso, and the gentle embrace of toasty oak. The harmonious blend of flavors leads to a finish that is both structured and elegant, driven by firm yet refined tannins that lend a satisfying grip. Persistent echoes of spice and wild berry linger on the palate, leaving a lasting impression of the wine’s balance and expressive character.
WINEMAKER NOTES
Malbec fruit is plump and a deep, red color when it comes in mid-October. A three-day cold soak in open-top stainless steel tanks extracts color and flavor from the grape skins while also preserving tannin and allow the natural yeast to start to grow before fermentation. This soak is followed by 2 weeks fermentation in tanks, then aging in French 80% and American 20% oak barrels for 18 months.
