Tasting Notes

Shaped by sun-warmed days and cooling evening air, the 2025 Vermentino opens with a subtle, restrained nose, hinting quietly at citrus and soft melon before revealing its full character on the palate. Bright flavors of lime sherbet and orange Push-Up unfold with energy, layered with notes of honeydew, ripe pear and a touch of vanilla bean and a whisper of wild herbs. A gentle rindy quality—reminiscent of citrus peel and melon skin—adds structure and a pleasing textural grip. Though aromatically understated, the wine bursts to life in the mouth, offering a vibrant, expansive profile balanced by freshness and a lingering, lightly creamy finish.

Winemaker Notes

The 2025 Vermentino was crafted to highlight both texture and vibrancy. Fermented in barrel using indigenous yeast, the wine was aged in a balanced combination of 50% neutral French oak and 50% stainless steel. Full malolactic fermentation lends a soft, rounded mouthfeel, while the stainless steel preserves freshness and clarity. The neutral oak integrates subtle depth without overt influence, allowing the wine’s natural character to shine. Serve lightly chilled at 45–55°F to accentuate its bright, textural profile.

Vintage

The 2025 growing season in Napa Valley began with a mild winter and moderate rainfall, providing essential soil moisture without excessive vigor. Spring arrived evenly, with temperate conditions supporting a healthy and uniform budbreak. A warm but balanced summer followed, marked by steady daytime temperatures and cool evenings that preserved natural acidity. Limited heat spikes allowed for gradual phenolic development and extended hang time, resulting in fruit with concentrated flavor, vibrant aromatics, and structural precision. Harvest commenced under clear skies, with grapes arriving at optimal ripeness and excellent balance.
