2025 Napa Valley Chardonnay
An homage to the goddess Flora and the quiet return of spring. From winter's stillness, the vineyard awakens. Buds break, sap rises, and lengthening light settles gently over the vines. This collection reflects the season's renewal with clarity and poise, shaped by patience, place, and the tender vitality of early growth.
Chardonnay is one of the world’s most beloved white wine grapes, known for its ability to express the place where it grows and the way it is made. While some Chardonnays are rich and buttery, this wine takes a fresher, more elegant approach, with bright citrus, crisp green apple, and subtle earthy notes. Gentle oak aging adds depth and texture without overpowering the fruit, making it a beautiful introduction to a more refined, Burgundy-inspired style of Chardonnay. Serve lightly chilled alongside roast chicken, fresh seafood, or creamy pasta.
Bright and beautifully composed, the 2025 Chardonnay opens with fresh lemon zest and crisp green apple, layered with delicate notes of sous bois that evoke damp earth and forest moss. Distinctly Burgundian in character, the wine balances the richness of complete malolactic fermentation with the vibrant, mineral-driven profile of a classic Chablis. Subtle toasted oak lends warmth and complexity, complementing a focused palate with impressive structure and a long, poised finish. Elegant and age-worthy, this Chardonnay will continue to evolve beautifully over the next ten years.
Crafted from 100% Chardonnay from the elevated eastern flanks of Napa Valley, approximately 900 feet above the valley floor, this wine reflects the freshness and structure of its hillside origins. The wine was entirely barrel fermented in large-format puncheons, with 100% malolactic fermentation and lees stirring to build texture and complexity while preserving its vibrant character. Aged for 12 months before sterile filtration, the result is a beautifully balanced Chardonnay with Burgundian sensibility, layered texture, a minerality unique to the site, and refined structure. With a pH of 3.4, total acidity of 5.15 g/L, and residual sugar of 1 g/L, the wine maintains a lively, precise profile with excellent potential for cellaring.
The 2025 growing season in Napa Valley began with a mild winter and moderate rainfall, providing essential soil moisture without excessive vigor. Spring arrived evenly, with temperate conditions supporting a healthy and uniform budbreak. A warm but balanced summer followed, marked by steady daytime temperatures and cool evenings that preserved natural acidity. Limited heat spikes allowed for gradual phenolic development and extended hang time, resulting in fruit with concentrated flavor, vibrant aromatics, and structural precision. Harvest commenced under clear skies, with grapes arriving at optimal ripeness and excellent balance.
