2024 Soliloquy

Crafted over decades with quiet determination and care, Soliloquy is our poetic tribute to white wine: expressive, elegant, and profoundly personal. White wine is the Soliloquy of the vine —honest, reflective, luminous. To drink it well is to listen closely.

Soliloquy, our flagship white wine blend—is named for the act of speaking one’s deepest truths aloud, a moment of vulnerability, emotion, and clarity. Like its namesake, this wine is an intimate expression of all we’ve learned and loved in our pursuit of the perfect white. Anchored by Sauvignon Blanc, it carries delicate whispers of Malvasia Bianca. Each varietal lending its voice to a beautifully layered, thoughtful whole.

New to Wine?

This is a fresh and zesty White Wine Blend, the perfect summer evening accompaniment to lighter dishes. Floral notes with a hint of citrus that are best served chilled.

Tasting Notes

Anchored by 82% Sauvignon Blanc, notes of honeysuckle prevail. Malvasia introduces tart apple and orange blossom to the palate and whispers citrus highlights throughout.

Vineyard

Crossroads Ranch Vineyard, Oakville AVA, Napa Valley

Our 2024 Flora Springs Soliloquy is the continuation of a remarkable journey that began in 1989. Noting the unique character of a small block of Sauvignon Blanc from our Crossroads Vineyard in the Oakville AVA, we fermented and bottled it separately as our first Soliloquy white wine. The Italian influence of our late winemaker, Enrico Bertoz, saw the addition of Malvasia Bianco the blend - whispers of fresh, floral notes weaved their way through the Sauvignon Blanc base, crafting a wine that is as versatile as it is profound.

Today, Soliloquy represents our quest to create the finest white wine we have ever made.

Winemaking

In an attempt to preserve the thumbprint of this treasured fruit source, the fruit is whole-cluster fermented in its natural yeast. This technique also means there is no inoculated yeast present in the wine.

Vintage

The 2024 growing season kicked off with heavy winter rains, which saturated soils and laid a foundation for healthy vegetative growth, preparing the vines for expansive heat events from June through harvest. Excellent grape quality has winemakers excited about the potential of the vintage, with strong phenolic ripeness and balanced sugar levels, promising complex and flavorful wines. A mid-summer heat wave accelerated sugar accumulation while allowing acids to develop steadily.
