Halloween is always a cause for celebration at Flora Springs, and all year long we look forward to releasing our Halloween wines.
For 13 years now, we’ve paid tribute to our ghostly history by producing special Halloween wine bottles for our Wine Club and Mailing List Members. Some years a favorite label is sold out upon release to the Wine Club. We enjoy giving exclusive access to wines crafted with our Napa Valley estate-grown Cabernet Franc and Malbec.
2020 All Hallows' Eve Cabernet Franc
Every year for Halloween General Manager Nat Komes collaborates with an artist on a one-of-a-kind Halloween-themed label. This year’s design is sure to delight Wine Club Members and All Hallows’ Eve lovers everywhere. Nat worked with comic book illustrator, graphic novelist and digital comics pioneer, Steve Ellis, to develop a label that just might be our scariest ever.
Ghost Winery Malbec
Napa Valley is home to a number of “ghost wineries” – wineries built between 1860 and 1900 but abandoned in the early 20th century. One of these ghost wineries happens to be the home of John Komes. Featuring a hand-drawn etching of this historic stone cellar, the Ghost Winery Malbec evokes early Flora Springs labels.
All Hallows' Eve Cabernet Franc
Each year Flora Springs General Manager Nat Komes seeks inspiration from album covers, comic books, children’s book illustrations, and artists from all areas of expertise, to create a new one-of-a-kind Halloween wine label for our All Hallows’ Eve. Skeletons, witches, pumpkins and black cats have all found their way onto our estate-grown Napa Valley Cabernet Franc release. The unveiling of the new design to our loyal Wine Club Members is the highlight of Nat's year, as he truly wants to create the most exciting wine for his favorite holiday.

Historical Halloween Wines
For many years we partnered with Virginia-based artist Wes Freed, best known for his CD covers for the Drive-By Truckers. Freed created custom labels for our first five Ghost Winery bottlings, illustrating mischievous, otherworldly scenes of our estate in Napa Valley. Sourced from our family's estate vineyards, these age-worthy wines are a testament to Flora Springs’ longstanding Halloween tradition.
When you work at a Ghost Winery you're always looking over your shoulder. That creak in the floorboard, those murmuring voices around the cave's bend, the whoosh of air that comes out of nowhere – are they real, or imagined? It's even worse during harvest, when our winemaking team is a little on edge as they work late into the night. Who can blame them for getting a little spooked? Harvest Witch is a toast to the haunting legends and ghost tales that come to life this time of year. Is the mysterious witch on the label a force for good, or evil? We're not sure, but we don't want to be the last one in the cellar to find out!
Artful Halloween Wines
It's no secret that Halloween is one of our favorite holidays. Over the years, we've celebrated with haunting limited-edition wines, merchandise, and collectibles that have quickly sold out.
