2023 Harvest Cabernet Sauvignon
Revered for her gift of renewal after winter’s stillness, the goddess Flora is the eternal guardian of transformation, guiding the land through its seasons with quiet grace...
At the foot of the Mayacamas, a tranquil spring cradles an ancient vine. As harvest approaches, it unfurls three delicate leaves — a quiet signal that the season of abundance has come. Each leaf honors a part of the journey: past, present, and the promise of what’s to come.
As the leaves drift to the valley floor, Flora takes her cue. She ascends to the stars, retreating into winter’s hush—waiting to awaken once more, when Gemini shines at its zenith.
Smoky and resonant, The Harvest arrives with a sense of completion—deep, grounded, and quietly powerful. Aromas of campfire smoke, worn leather, and forest floor rise first, followed by a core of dark fruit—blackberry tart, black plum, and licorice. The palate is plush and coating, shaped by soft, savory tannins that lend breadth without weight. As the wine moves across the palate, its texture deepens, finishing mouthwatering and lingering, leaving echoes of smoke, earth, and dark fruit long after the last sip.
The Crossroads vineyard in Oakville is certified as Fish Friendly and sits at the heart of the Oakville appellation at the approximate center of Napa Valley. The smoke-like fog that lingers above the vines on summer mornings, lifting gradually before it gives way to the warmth of the sun in the afternoons, that provide the energy needed for full ripening and flavor development. This delays the onset of photosynthesis and protects the grapes from excessive early heat, preserving acidity and aromatic freshness.
This pattern creates a long, gradual growing season. Instead of racing to maturity, the grapes develop slowly, allowing sugars, acids, tannins, and flavor compounds to ripen in harmony. For Cabernet Sauvignon, this translates into wines with concentrated dark fruit, remarkable depth, and polished tannins, while retaining freshness and balance.
In 2023, Napa Valley experienced one of the longest growing seasons in a decade or more. Winter and spring rains led to full reservoirs and healthy, saturated soils; ideal conditions as grape growers headed into the peak growing months. With consistent, mild weather throughout the season, above-average crop yields, and extended hang time, 2023 was an exceptional, high-quality, and memorable vintage.

Jonathan Cristaldi, Decanter Magazine"Full-bodied, unctuous, and richly scented with blackberry and blueberry fruit, dark espresso, and toasty oak spices, the wine radiates warmth and generosity. Soft, gentle tannins add to the already plush mouthfeel, while the finish is long, with salted chocolate notes and fig preserves. Sourced from the Fish Friendly Farming-certified Crossroads Vineyard in the heart of the Oakville appellation, bordering the seasonal Conn Creek, the soils here are a combination of Riverwash and Yolo loam. Aged 20 months in 33% new oak, 10% of which was American oak. Formerly called Holy Smoke under previous ownership."
Layers of dark berries and currants, licorice, bitter chocolate, violets, pomegranate and spice. The palate is full-bodied with silken, finely tuned tannins and a lush mouthfeel that finishes long and balanced. A finely made cabernet sauvignon sourced from Oakville that shows class and poise in the cellar. Drink or hold.
