THE STORY

The Bloom emblem captures the vitality and abundance of Napa Valley at the height of spring turning toward summer. Framed by olive branches and crowned by the sun, the illustration centers on California poppies rising across the valley floor beneath rolling vineyard hills. Symbols of growth, warmth, and the flourishing energy of the season. The sun above speaks to the long Napa days that guide the ripening of the fruit, while the layered landscape reflects the harmony between nature and vineyard.

For the 2023 Bloom Cabernet Sauvignon, the artwork becomes a visual expression of the wine itself: vibrant yet grounded, expansive yet refined. Just as the valley bursts into color and fragrance under Flora’s watch. The design reflects a season alive with movement, warmth, and natural richness, capturing the moment when the vineyard reaches its fullest expression before harvest.

TASTING NOTES

The 2023 Bloom Cabernet Sauvignon opens with layered aromas of dark cherry and black plum, framed by notes of graphite, fresh cigar tobacco, and wild sage. The palate is deep and structured, revealing dusty cocoa, thyme, and a savory mineral edge that brings complexity and intrigue. Firm yet finely detailed tannins create a sense of tension and energy throughout, balancing the wine’s richness with freshness and lift. The finish is long, poised, and quietly powerful, carrying dark fruit and earthy spice with elegance and precision.

VINEYARD

Komes Ranch Vineyard, Rutherford AVA, Napa Valley

The Komes Ranch Vineyard in Rutherford embodies the classic character and enduring appeal of Napa Valley’s most celebrated appellation. Situated on the valley floor, the vineyard benefits from warm days, cooling evening influences, and the well-drained soils that define Rutherford’s distinctive expression of Cabernet Sauvignon.

Here, the vines produce fruit with remarkable depth and structure, balancing dark berry concentration with the hallmark refinement often associated with “Rutherford Dust.” Wines from the site reveal layered notes of blackberry, cassis, cocoa, and warm earth, supported by finely woven tannins and a supple, polished texture.

Long connected to the history of Flora Springs, Komes Ranch reflects a philosophy of thoughtful farming and intimate stewardship of the land. The vineyard’s consistent quality and sense of place make it an essential part of the winery’s identity, an expression of Rutherford shaped by both heritage and precision.

Aged 20 months in 35-40% New Oak, 90% French Oak and 10% American Oak barrels.

VINTAGE

In 2023, Napa Valley experienced one of the longest growing seasons in a decade or more. Winter and spring rains led to full reservoirs and healthy, saturated soils; ideal conditions as grape growers headed into the peak growing months. With consistent, mild weather throughout the season, above-average crop yields, and extended hang time, 2023 was an exceptional, high-quality, and memorable vintage.
