THE DESIGN

The Year of the Horse etched celebration bottle marks the Chinese New Year with a design that speaks to strength, momentum, and new beginnings. Rendered in rich red against deep black glass, the horse stands poised in motion, an emblem of vitality, resilience, and forward progress as one year gives way to the next.

Gold accents bring warmth and elegance to the composition, symbolizing prosperity and good fortune, while the intricate etched detailing reflects the care and craftsmanship behind both the bottle and the wine within. The interplay of bold color and refined restraint creates a sense of quiet celebration, modern yet timeless.

At Flora Springs, each vintage is an act of renewal, shaped by season, patience, and purpose. This design honors that rhythm, uniting Lunar New Year tradition with Napa Valley artistry in a bottle created to welcome the year ahead with optimism, beauty, and intention.

Winemaker Notes

Our 2021 Holiday Blend consists primarily of Cabernet Sauvignon and combines fruit from sustainably-farmed vineyards in outstanding areas of Napa Valley. Notes of blackberry jam, dark plum and red boysenberry are at the core of this plush red wine, accompanied by aromas of toasted spice and dark chocolate. This wonderful festive bottling is layered with notes of espresso bean and menthol, along with hints of cedar and spice.

Vintage

The 2021 vintage in Napa Valley will be remembered for a smooth, uneventful growing season and harvest that produced low yields of intensely-flavored, small-sized grape clusters. The season started off with very little rain and continued as a dry, sunny summer led to a relatively cool fall with weeks of lovely weather. 2021 represented the second drought year in a row, and while concerning in the long term, the dry weather resulted in a more natural crop load on the vines, requiring less pruning and dropping of fruit. The resulting grapes were packed with flavor leading to powerful, concentrated wines.
