One thing Richard Tiedemann certainly shares with the Flora Springs family is passion and a zest for living life to its fullest. Formerly a crab fisherman in Alaska, Richard returned to the Napa Valley nearly a decade ago to work in the Flora Springs tasting room. His passion for wine and for spreading the Flora Springs value of creating wines to be shared amongst loved ones and friends was apparent from the onset, and Richard now manages sales for Flora Springs in 16 states throughout the Midwest and Northeast, as well as Texas.
Richard is a fifth-generation Napa Valley native. His family has been growing grapes in the Stag's Leap district since the late 1880's, and vineyards are a large part of what Richard says attracted him to Flora Springs in the first place. "The Komes-Garvey families have premium vineyards in five different AVA's," he says. "Great vineyards are essential to great wines and I couldn't resist the chance to work with Flora Springs firsthand," he adds.
When he's not on the road, this go-getter can be found in the restaurant he owns in downtown Napa, Pasta Prego.
